The Professional Visit Pass (PVP) is issued to foreign individuals possessing specialized professional qualifications or skills. It allows them to engage in work or practical training with a Malaysian organization on behalf of an overseas entity for a temporary period.

Validity:
- 12 months maximum with no extensions allowed
- 6 months for those attending training
- PVP can only be applied once in a lifetime

When arriving in Malaysia, you must meet certain requirements depending on your career:
a. Passport (a minimum of 6 months of validity from the time you intend to enter). A complete copy of your passport.
b. Passport-size picture of yourself.
c. Malaysia visa application forms (IMM. 12 and IMM. 38).
d. Letter of offer from Malaysian company/institution (your sponsor), including the reason for your employment/training.
e. A copy of your sponsor’s company profile (if applicable).
f. If you’re an international student, additional documents may be required.
g. If you are a religious missionary: Letter of approval from the Department Of Religion and the Islamic Religious Department.
h. If you are a Chinese citizen: Bank guarantee/personal security bond.
Keep in mind: This is not an exhaustive list of requirements. You and your sponsor should enquire with the Immigration Department of Malaysia regarding the full list of documents your sponsor must submit with the Professional Visit Pass application.
1. Fill out the application.
2. Have a sponsor (the company/institution you’ll be working/training in) submit the application before your arrival in Malaysia.
3. Submit your Professional Visit Pass application to the Malaysian Federal Government Administrative Centre (Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration Department) in Putrajaya.
Only related to the filming industry:
1. Submit the application to the Central Agency for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (PUSPAL) who will work with the Immigration Department to issue an approval.
2. Approval letter from FINAS (National Film Development Corporation Malaysia).
